BSVKey Names extension: privacy policy
Effective 11 October 2026
BSVKey Names is a browser extension that opens names from the BSVKey name registry (for example moonbase.key) by reading the Bitcoin BSV blockchain. This policy explains what it does with information.
What we collect
Nothing. The extension has no accounts, analytics, tracking, advertising or cookies, and it stores no browsing data.
What leaves your browser
To open a name, the extension has to look it up on the blockchain. It sends these requests:
- The name index at
bsvkey.github.io: a public list of claimed names, downloaded whole. Which name you're opening isn't sent. - Blockchain reads through
bsvkey.com/woc, or directly toapi.whatsonchain.com: requests for the public transactions and addresses that make up the name and its page. Like a DNS lookup, these show which name is being opened.
These requests carry no identifier for you beyond what any web request carries (such as your IP address). We use them only to answer the lookup, and we don't sell or share them.
Pages you open
The page shown for a name is published on chain by that name's owner, not by us. It runs in an isolated sandbox with no access to the extension, your other tabs or any wallet. A page may load images or fonts from other websites, and those sites' own policies apply.
Optional search permission
If you turn on "Let me type plain name.key" in the popup, the extension gets permission to match searches on Google, Bing, DuckDuckGo and Brave. It only redirects a search that is exactly a .key name. It doesn't read, store or send your searches. You can turn this off in the popup at any time.
